Lake Days

Simply known today as the Old Beach on South Lakeside — it was easily the place to be during those long, hot summer days that lasted for what seemed to be forever. Sail boat races, swimming lessons, beauty pageants and so much more would take up the shores of what we probably now know as the BC Rail yard and Pellet Plant. These photographs were captured by Lil Deschene — she was always finding something to make a photo of — a family out for a picnic, men out on their prized motorboats and children fresh out of the water after a cool dip. Lil always desired to photograph the very best and most memorable moments on film.
