For those who remember, Lil Deschene had the small house across the railroad tracks. It was the only house. Her husband Ed worked for the Pacific Great Eastern Railway and they leased the house from the PGE for 57 years. Lil took every opportunity to follow her husband and the other workers with her curious eye and document the history of the oldest location that helped put Williams Lake on the map.
